Thank you for being you.

It’s a statement I declare every now and then and yet every time it feels kind of clunky. Too light when it actually is always heartfelt. Too easy to dismiss when I see it as massive compliment.

I don’t think you can say Thank You enough. So much is left implicit when I think we can benefit from being more explicit each and every day. And yet this statement isn’t about thanking someone for doing an act. It’s about thanking them for the way they show up in the world and the impact that has.

Thank you for so eloquently sharing your thoughts and opinions with the world, helping me see it through a different light.
Thank you for being a goofball, unapologetically.
Thank you for your strong bear hugs which make me feel totally enveloped.
Thank you for your visual take on your surroundings, reminding me of the beauty that always surrounds us.
Thank you for finding ways to make me laugh, no matter how crap the situation.
Thank you for sharing your love and joy so easily and effortlessly with those around you.
Thank you for finding ways to share complex topics in such easily to understand ways.
Thank you for asking for help when you need it.
Thank you for the little gifts you give which say, I see you.
Thank you for showing your love through the way you prepare and offer food.
Thank you for reminding me that I am stronger and more capable than I think I am.
Thank you for being you.
