I believe

  • by

You know how when someone tells you about a concept, you start seeing and hearing about it everywhere. It’s like when you notice a new type of car or shop and then it is EVERYWHERE! It seems to be the case with stories and reality for me at the moment.

Over the past few days I have become acutely aware of how we can make ourselves feel fabulous or total sh*t just by the stories we tell ourselves. We create our reality through our thoughts and even when we are aware of our thoughts, it can still be bloody hard to realise we can stop thinking them and choose another reality.

I’m dipping in and out of the current Deepak & Oprah 21-day meditation challenge, which is all about the power of belief. And one of the statements has really stood out for me:

What I believe makes me who I am

My beliefs very much govern my life. They feature on my ABOUT page on this website and I often find myself declaring my beliefs to others. And they really do shape who I am and how I view this world around me.

I believe that life is for living and enjoying.

I believe that people are fundamentally good.

I believe we are responsible for the course of our lives (and the outlook we have on our journey).

I believe that life is too short to replay the past. Learn from experiences and then move on.

I believe in the power of the collective rather than the struggle of the individual.

I believe that putting your health and wellness first doesn’t make you selfish, rather it makes you wise and caring. From the place of being fuelled you can be of more service to others.

What do you believe? And how is it shaping your world?
