Think big, start small

Whether thinking about where you want your business to be in 5 years time, or imagining what it would be like if you didn’t have to be so involved in the day-to-day tasks of your business, it is important to keep the dreams big, but then start with small actions.

It is important to have a big vision; and a clear one at that.

You should be able to articulate this dream or goal or idea and it should be the biggest it can be. The heart should get involved, you should feel energy and excitement around it when you think and talk about it. The passion and drive should be totally there.

The only problem with big ideas is that sometimes it can be hard to know where to start. Sometimes it seems just so big that it is easier to put it off, and to not start down that path at all. Don’t allow the biggness of the dream to stop you from taking that first step.

So dream big, and then start small.

Let the idea grow organically from a small little seedling. Ensure that the focus of the big dream is still there in that first small step. Keep true to the big picture and keep focused on that .

You will let the idea grow by continuing to take steps and you will learn from the act of doing. The goal will develop over time and may change slightly, but each step should be a conscious one and keeping that big goal in mind at all times.

If you keep taking small steps you will ensure you reach that goal in no time. Remember that starting is often the hard part. So just find one small way to take that first step today.
